About the series


The Art Libraries Society of the UK and Ireland has established a new series based on cities throughout the country, describing the major collections with public access to art and design resources. The aim of each book is to direct people to the most appropriate place to suit their research needs.

Special features include:

-at-a-glance navigation icons
-a time-saving subject index to collections
-a peek into each place with full-colour images

Aimed at visual artists, academic researchers, art teachers, art students, these unique resources are co-edited and designed by Rose Roberto, with contributions from local librarians, archivists, and scholars.

The first book of the series is the Art Researchers' Guide to Leeds, was published in 2011. The second book in the series, Art Researchers' Guide to Edinburgh, was published in 2012. The third book, 
the Art Researchers' Guide to Dublin, was published in 2013. The forth book published in 2015, Art Researchers' Guide to Manchester is available around Manchester and Salford, and online.
The fifth book, the Art Researchers' Guide to Cardiff and South Wales is now available around South Wales
