The Art Libraries Society of the UK and Ireland has established a series based on cities throughout the country, describing the major collections with public access to art and design resources. The aim of each book is to direct people to the most appropriate place to suit their research needs. Special features include:
-a city-wide map
-at-a-glance navigation icons
-a time-saving subject index to collections
-a peek into each place with full-colour images
Aimed at visual artists, academic researchers, art teachers, art students, these unique resources are co-edited and designed by Rose Roberto, with contributions from local librarians, archivists, and scholars.
The first book of the series is the Art Researchers' Guide to Leeds, published in July 2011. The rest came out in the following order:
Art Researchers' Guide to Edinburgh, 2012
Art Researchers' Guide to Dublin, 2013
Art Researchers' Guide to Manchester and Salford, 2014
Art Researchers' Guide to Cardiff and South Wales, 2015
Art Researchers' Guide to Liverpool and Merseyside, 2017
